Hi! My name is Carol. I live in Austin State School. The Volunteer Services Council (VSC) has been working for years to help the staff provide the best opportunities for me and my 434 friends. Each year, they host an event that raises money to help improve our home and community. It's called Splash for Cash!

Who: Anyone can swim or can choose to sponsor a friend who is swimming. Some of my friends will be swimming and you can choose to sponsor them!

What: Swimmers gather donations and then swim lap after lap to bring in as much money as possible.

When: Saturday, July 18, 8 - 10 am

Where: We swim at four Austin pools: Dick Nichols; Murchison; Balcones. (Not in Austin? You can be a 'long-distance' swimmer at your local pool! )

Why: To provide backpacks for people's wheelchairs; extra lifejackets so everyone can swim at the same time; a fence required for safety around the miniature golf course. Any remaining funds will be used for programs and necessities that enhance the quality of our daily lives.
